The perfect mixture of shit and awesome

You almost lost me after the first 30 seconds so, but I'm glad I stuck it out. I don't know if I've ever seen a flash that went from being so overly terrible to so overly epic. This is the kind of flash I would only expect to see on Newgrounds.

I'd be interested to know what the creative process was in the making of this animation. Did you plan on contrasting sloppy drawings and animation with the supremely epic battle scenes from the start? Or did this start off as something completely different, and take on a life of its' own as you progressed?

Either way, it's a very entertaining flash and I think it's well deserving of front page. Well done.

Not bad

It was pretty funny. The animation was pretty decent and the sound effects were well done. I found the plot to be basically just an expanded version of the idea from the first one in that: Rodriguez it out doing his thing and then John start screwing with his game. So overall it was pretty good, but I don't see what make it the best of all time.

WhiteLightning responds:

You know, me either, but I'm sure not going to complain :)

That was pretty dang awesome!

It did kinda remind me of 'Powerthirst' but that's alright. I don't know how you could produce this flash and be a little similar to them.

But yeah, funny writing that was pulled off well by the voice-acting and animations. I totally dug your art style and the ridiculously over-the-top expressions; right up my alley. Overall this was well produced, entertaining flash.

I love a good Billy Mays Spoof, but...

Okay, so there were a lot of things in this video I liked. Firstly, the Billy Mays voice was very well done, very convincing. I really liked the level of detail in the backgrounds and background animations.

There was also a lot of stuff I didn't care for at all. The voice used for the narration was terribly annoying and very difficult to understand, despite the subtitles. While I did like the 'Billy's coming' song, the ET, Terminator and Jurassic Park spoofs weren't that funny, nor did they seem relevant at all to the plot of the video. The scene where he meets Dio was just slightly too random for my taste, and the voice-acting for Dio was pretty terrible.

To summarize, you get some points for the detailed animation and the great Billy Mays voice, but I found this video disappointing overall. Hopefully the next chapters will be better. This has potential to be a pretty decent series.

Hell yeah!

Great stuff man. I really liked the dream sequence in this one. It felt much more abstract and vague, like something from the subconscious. Made me laugh out loud a couple times. Well done sir.

Bobert-Rob responds:

I was definitely trying for that with the dream sequence, so I'm glad that came through! Thanks for watching, it's good to hear you enjoyed it.

Freekin' hilareous!

I've been avoiding this animation for like a week, because I thought it was just some hentai video, but then I saw it was by Happy Harry. Great stuff man! Not only was it funny as hell, but you also did a good job of capturing the feel of the lush, alien Pandora landscape in a simple, yet accurate cartoon version. Good job Harry, you've done it again!

Great... I think...

I thought it was a pretty sweet social satire, whether it was intended or not. The image it reflects of society is exaggerated, but the whole animation was cartoony and characterized so it fits in with the overall feel of the piece. More of a fun-house mirror than a critical social commentary.

Nice attempt, nothing new though.

I understand that Alvin Earthworm doesn't own the rights to these chracters, nor the sound effects from his movies, but if he did you would be in major copyright violation. Earthworm took a series of ideas like, crappy sprite animations, a mario and sonic collab, and a DBZ themed sprite film and combined them into something nobody had seen before. I understand that you're probably just taking Alvin's overall style, and trying to create something of your own out of it, but it just wasn't different enough to make it seem like you aren't just trying to ride his coattails. I'd suggest trying to come up with your own style, Crediting this series as a tribute to Alvin Earthworm, or just get used to alot of "U RIPD OFF ALVIN URTHWURM!!! D:<!!1" reviews, such as this one.

That was pretty awesome

The animation flowed really well. I especially like how all the tofu's limbs/tentacles were always in square blocks, as this differentiated the tofu monster from any other gigantic-amorphous-blob-monster. Good stuff, you've definitely got some skills.

danomano65 responds:

i'm glad you noticed. a lot of detail and thought went into it.

God yes.

Once again my childhood memories get torn a new one. Ya gotta love newgrounds!
